Datuk Zulkifli Suara currently serves as the Chief Conservator of Forests at the Sabah Forestry Department. In this capacity, he leads one of Sabah’s key institutions in advancing sustainable forest management, conserving natural heritage, and strengthening long-term forestry governance for the state. Under the department’s mission and strategic direction, the office of the Chief Conservator plays a central role in balancing conservation priorities with sustainable use, research and institutional development. His presence as an invited speaker brings an important policy and management perspective to the conference’s discussions on tropical forestry and sustainability.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dato (Dr.) Henry Lau Lee Kong is the Managing Director of KTS Group of Companies and serves as Executive Chairman of BLD Plantation Bhd. Trained in engineering at the University of Adelaide, Australia, he is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers Australia. He has extensive experience in plantation, timber logging, sawmilling, and property development. In 2025, Universiti Malaysia Sabah conferred upon him an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Forestry in recognition of his long-standing commitment to forest conservation, sustainable forestry practices, and academic research in tropical forest ecosystems.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Prof. Dr. Ir. Sri Rahayu, M.P. is an academic at the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia. Her expertise lies in forest science, with specialization in forest protection and health, silviculture, and tree pathology. She is listed among the teaching staff of the Doctoral Programme in Forestry Science at Universitas Gadjah Mada, where her knowledge field is identified as Tree Pathology. In recent international academic programmes, she has also been presented as Head of the Laboratory of Health and Protection, reflecting her leadership in forest health and plant pathology scholarship within the faculty.
