Abdul Majid Khan is an established businessman and entrepreneur with extensive experience across banking, the corporate sector, politics, and public service. Over the course of his career, he has served in several prominent leadership roles, including Political Secretary to the late Tun Fuad Stephens, Chief Information of Party Berjaya Sabah, and Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly. He also held major positions in Sabah’s corporate and financial institutions, including Sabah Timber Association, Sabah Development Bank, Sabah Bank Berhad, and Sabah Finance Berhad. He currently serves as Chairman of Jawala Corporation Sdn. Bhd. and Executive Chairman of Jaycorp Berhad.
Prof. Dr. Meine van Noordwijk is a Distinguished Research Fellow at World Agroforestry and has been with the organization since 1993. For many years, he helped guide the global integration of the centre’s scientific agenda and co-led ICRAF’s global research programme on environmental services. His scholarship spans a remarkable range of scales, from root–soil interactions to global environmental policy and national-level implementation. In addition to his work at World Agroforestry, he is also Professor of Agroforestry at Wageningen University, the Netherlands. His contributions have been highly influential in linking agroforestry science with sustainability, livelihoods, and policy.
Prof. Dr. Kanehiro Kitayama is currently listed as Professor Emeritus in the Laboratory of Forest Ecology, Kyoto University. He previously served as Professor of Forest Ecology at Kyoto University and holds a Ph.D. in Botanical Sciences from the University of Hawai’i. His academic work has contributed significantly to forest ecology and sustainable forestry, particularly through ecological studies of tropical forest systems. His long-standing research profile reflects deep engagement with tropical biodiversity, ecosystem processes, and forest sustainability.
