In recent years, the study of Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Self-Resilience has gathered increasing scholarly attention, particularly within educational contexts. This study aims to examine the level of Emotional Intelligence among undergraduate students at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and to explore the relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Self-Resilience within this population. Employing a quantitative research design, data were collected from 160 undergraduate students at IIUM Gombak Campus through purposive sampling. Participants completed the Schutte Self-Report Emotional Intelligence Test (SSEIT), comprising 33 items, and the Brief Resilience Scale (BRS), consisting of 6 items. The data were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation. Results indicated that the majority of respondents demonstrated a moderate level of Emotional Intelligence (56.9%), followed by high (27.5%) and low (15.6%) levels. Moreover, the findings revealed a significant moderate positive correlation between Emotional Intelligence and Self-Resilience, r(160) = .38, p < .001. These findings suggest that higher Emotional Intelligence is associated with greater resilience among undergraduate students.
