Textile is becoming a very dominant material culture in human civilisation, and it is one of the most important things to fulfil as a human being. Textile in the Malay world is intricated with many elements of the great achievements of Malays civilisations in historical, cultural, customs, art, belief, and economy. The Malay Tenggarung woven textile is the most luxurious Malay textile, and it is always put on the same level as Songket, Telepuk, Kelingkan, and other Malay traditional textiles. Nowadays, the Tenggarung woven textile is less produced by local weavers due to a lack of acknowledgment and familiarity with it amongst youth. This study aims to identify the aesthetics of striped design motifs in the Tenggarung woven textiles in the context of Malay sociocultural. This is qualitative research using primary and secondary research approaches for data collection. The in-depth research study on the Tenggarung woven textile artefacts and collections is used to seek research findings. Meanwhile, this study incorporated the Malay aesthetics theory and principles of Zakaria Ali for validity. This study is of utmost importance to preserving and documenting the beauty of the Tenggarung woven textile as a Malay traditional textile while also raising awareness among the younger generation about the art of Malay traditional textiles, especially the Tenggarung woven textile.
